Hello… All friends of Jesus. I hope you are in good health. Today is the opening of the National Bible Month (BKSN). In order to open BKSN, SD Strada Van Lith I held a worship service led by Mrs. Widhi. After all the students sat neatly on the field, Mrs. Widhi invited them to sing the opening song titled “Sejauh Timur dari Barat”. Next, Mrs. Widhi invited all the students to make the sign of the cross as a symbol of Christ’s victory.
The worship service continued with asking for forgiveness for all our sins, so that we are worthy and fit to follow the worship service today through the Confession of Faith. Next, Mrs. Widhi invited everyone to be silent for a moment to pray together. After that, Mrs. Widhi read the gospel of the Lord taken from Matthew 25: 1 – 13. Mrs. Widhi reflected on the gospel of the Lord by asking one representative student from grades I-VI. Each student was given a piece of paper with a picture of the BKSN logo for 2023 which was equipped with the theme of BKSN for 2023 randomly written on it. Students were asked to arrange the order of words for the BKSN logo for 2023. The result was an arrangement of words for the BKSN theme for 2023 that read “GOD IS THE SOURCE OF LOVE AND SALVATION”. Students were also asked to interpret the meaning of the BKSN logo for 2023. Then students were asked to express their opinions.
Mrs. Widhi explained about the meaning of the logo and theme of BKSN for 2023. The theme of BKSN this time invites all believers to be able to realize God’s great love. May that love always be our guide in our daily lives. For example, always love your parents, friends, and people around us. We are also expected to always bring our lives and hearts closer to the scriptures. Mrs. Widhi also touched on the content of the gospel reading that depicts wise and foolish virgins. All representative students were asked one by one, whether they wanted to be like wise or foolish virgins. All representative students answered that they wanted to be like wise virgins. All other students when asked the same thing, answered with the same answer too.
The worship service continued with Prayers of the Faithful, Our Father prayer, and Closing Prayer. The worship service ended with making a sign of Christ’s victory and singing the closing song “Baca Kitab Suci Doa Tiap Hari”. Well, that’s all for today’s news at SD Strada Van Lith I.
